Collins produced the band's 2005 album, and was present for the group's celebratory gig after the Top 20 success of their Alex Kapranos produced 'Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever' album. The star is currently in the studio in Topanga Canyon, laying down tracks with the likes of Espers Otto Hauser, Vetiver songwriter Andy Cabic and brother of Joanna Newsom, Pete Newsom. The as-yet-untitled record, the follow-up to 2005's 'Cripple Crow', will be produced by Banhart himself. No release date has been set for the record yet. |
